Looks like it! It would seem that they did ship out all of the backorders, and they have a very small quantity in stock right now. (I called the operator, and she said that they had 38 in stock.)
I wouldn't expect that number to last more than a day, but as you mentioned they are available right now.

You were correct... the surplus lasted but a day...
They are back to 12/31/04 ship this morning...
I hope some of the fence sitters that read here were able to grab one yesterday.

Sorry for the anon post - too lazy to register :p
I ordered a Discovery SE from HS on Saturday (or whichever day it was) when the site said available for immediate shipment. I immediately got an "order received" email, then on Monday I got another email saying "Sorry that your order won't be there in time for the Holidays."
The next day I got an email saying "Your order is on back-order.". I called them, and they said they were expecting more on 12/31 - that was when they were told their order was coming in & they weren't guaranteeing anything.
Bottom line: I wouldn't put too much stock in that "Available immediately" message. |

Just got off the phone with them, supposedly they did get another shipment in and they do have them in stock right now.
The rep claimed that all orders should go out tomorrow. |
