Last week I bought the Roomba Discovery SE from Brookstone.
Everything was fine till yesterday when it started to get stuck when getting to the edge of stairs and spinning like crazy when reaching corners (kept spinning till battery died).
I took it back to the store and got a new one in a sealed box.
When I got back home and opened the box, I discovered there was a filter missing (only 1 replacement instead of 2 I got with the previous Roomba) and a missing replacement side brush (I got one replacement with the previous Roomba). Also, the side brush was different. The side brush was thicker and more stiff on the previous Roomba while the new one is quite flexible and thinner.
In addition, the sensors behind the brushes were covered with dirt and fingerprints (brushes look brand new and clean), leading me to think it was either a refurbished unit or one that was used and just cleaned.

1) Did anyone else noticed differences between units of the same model?
2) Which side brush is the new design and should there be a replacement side brush?
3) Anyone else experienced missing parts and dirty sensors on a brand new unit?
