Hello,
I just got a roomba 4260 and have run it a few times. I noticed after the first or second use that there was a rattle coming from the back end. I ran it without the dust bin to try to narrow it down and the noise was gone. So it's in the dust bin somewhere. I then depressed all the wheels and ran the unit upside down to see if I could visually inspect where the noise was coming from. It looks like the small fan wheel in the back of the unit (right inside the vent hole) is moving up and down slightly as the roomba rolls and is making contact with the rest of the housing.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix? |

Shaft end-play is normal / desired; however, impeller-rubbing is NOT. Quote: Is there a fix? While an adjustment IS possible, the work entails use of some shop tools you may not possess. Your very best method of fixing this fault is to *telephone* iRobot's Customer Support number, and tell the Rep about it. S/he will send out a new Bin for you to use. |
