I bought a Roomba SE from Brookstone and it died after couple of uses.
I thought instead of going back to Brookstone and replace it, I will use the warranty and although I will be without a Roomba for 10 days, atleast I will get a second complete kit.

I never did understand why iRobot actually sends complete new kits, but apparenty they came to that conclusion too.
The Unit I received does seem new, but it was just the Roomba, in a non-sealed brown box without any accessories.

If they changed their policy, it's definitely not worth sending them the unit ($10 for sending the brush guard), but rather go and replace it at the store.

Did iRobot change their replacement policy or I just got the wrong box?
Anyone else received just the unit in a brown box?

Yup, looks like they wised up. I just got a replacement Discovery, brand new in the retail box - but all that was in the box was the Discovery, no accessories at all.

Definitly not as good as before, but for your $10 you get to keep your old one to play with, dissassemble, or fix ...

I think it was worth it for me... but hey, I'm a geek...

Don't write, call.

I called iRobot at 877-855-8593 on Sunday and complained how they were in stock for purchase but not for warranty replacement. I told them I was going to post nasty messages on this message board and guess what?

Got the shipping notice on Monday, had it by Tuesday!

I called em about it and didn't fare so well, guess I need to get cattier. They processed my RMA part on Thursday, but told me the 'brown boxes' were on backorder.

Was there a battery in the replacement unit?

No Battery, just the Roomba unit.
