No Support for broken vacuum under warranty!!!!!!

:( I purchased mine from HSN, it has not worked since Aug. , I got in 3/04. HSN says it's not their problem even though I purchased extra warranty on it. On I cant seem to get through to the manufacturer to do any thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What model do you have? It sounds like you have an older model, which only came with a 6 month warranty. I'm confused as to why you can't get any help from HSN if you purchased an extended warranty. What reason do they give for not honoring your claim?

Also, you might want to call your credit card company and see if you have a warranty with them. Many credit cards double the warranty of items that you buy automatically, and if yours does then you can get coverage through them.

Posted: January 25, 2005, 9:31 am    Post subject: I've had two replacements since November, 2003, and the  

third one died yesterday. I also got mine through HSN in Novermber, 2003, and also go the run around but IRobot did ultimately replace the first and then the second. They seem to die every 5 months. I doubt if they'll replace this third one as my warranty expired in Nov. 2004. I suggest you deal with IROBOT and show you bought by HSN, with extended warranty, and they'll have to replace it when you sent yours back. But I suspect a design flaw (probably in software) they cannot admit to, or else they'd have to recall them all and bankrupt the company. That's just my suspicion, but I don't think it could be three hardware failures in a matter of 15 months. So good luck, but HSN does not take responsibility, just your money. You have to press IRobot to replace the machine, and then don't expect to get more than 5 months out of the new one. I hope I'm wrong. Let us know.

Wow, sounds like HSN is a real bitch- a bitch that iRobot is having to clean up after no less (ha a pun), and that's not cool.

You guys do know you have consumer rights, yes? If company X has wronged you somehow, file a BBB report on em and/or lambast em publicly, and/or put a dent in their resellerratings.com or bizrate.com ratings. If that doesn't get results then call your CC support- nearly all have dispute teams that will get all up in Company X's face for you, and they are mighty and much-feared (good thing they're on our side). If you can provide them clear proof you've been wronged they WILL get your money back.
