Got my Roomba Discovery a week ago. Loved it, but also noticed it does not stop automatically in the "CLEAN" mode, no matter how small the room is. It just keeps vacuuming until the battery is dead. Searched irobot.com. Seems this is one of the top support issue. Called irobot, was told to take out the battery and press the "POWER" button for over 30 seconds, I did it over one minute :) Didn't work. Called again, was asked to try the "MAX" instead of "CLEAN" button, the explanation was may be the wiring for "CLEAN" and "MAX" got mixed  . Still didn't work. irobot CS wanted me to send back but at my cost. Exchanged one at where I purchased.
That one didn't even charge at all. Another top support issue at irobot.com.
Got a third one, it charges but still wouldn't stop automatically.
I am confused. I don't expect the two Roomba Discovery have the same problem, or may be, because a common problem in this batch of product. But at this point, I would rather think about whether I did something wrong.
Does anyone have the same problem? How did you overcome it?
I tried one room of size 10X9 and a hallway of size 3.5X10.
Other than this issue, I like the Roomba Discovery, I am not sure what my next step will be. Return it for good, continue to exchange, or bear with it? |

Yes, you can keep exchanging it and bear with it...
I didn't and don't plan on doing so either, I returned it and got my money back. It is obvious the Roomba is not reliable and keeping exchanging them is not what i planned for. I went through 5 units till I gave up. |

| Weird, not sure why that would happen. :? Could be a problem with that batch of units, like you said. I would try getting one at a different store. Also, *after* you removed the battery did you try pressing the max button instead of the clean button? I am still not sure what kind of manufacturing problem would cause that, because thats something thats programmed into the Roomba's firmware. |
