Hi

I received my 4210 yesterday. I charged it for 3 hours, and it vacuum'ed for about 1 hour. So far - so good! (I am using a universal AC to DC converter that can handle 220/230V, 22V @ 1,6A)
But when i put it back to the charger, it is blinking amber for ever....
The battery voltage is measured to 7 V
I measure the supply current to about 10mA.

I thought that if i could raise the battery voltage to 14.4 V, maybe the charging should become OK... So i removed the battery, and connected 15V directly to the contacts. I measured the current, it started at 1A but in five minutes the current had continuisly crimped to 0. When i disconnected this supply, i measured about 14.6V om the battery!

When the battery does not receive more current, shouldn't it then be completly loaded? I started it, but it ran for only 30 seconds... I still have the same problems when charging it on the base and directly connected.

If i was living in USA i would send it back to IRobot, but i live in Europe and bought i on Ebay. Sending it back will be very expensive, so i really hope that anyone can have a tip of what i can do

I'd suggest to get rid of the converter and buy an adjustable power supply that directly feeds the 22VDC needed.
