Hi,

I am from the UK and just received a discovery. In my haste to get charging and cleaning, I overlooked the 110-220v difference from the US and UK. I used a travel adaptor, plugged it directly into the roomba, switched on at the mains and blew the charger. After seeing the puff of smoke come out of the charger I switched the charger, or what was left of it off at the mains.

Finding out that I should be using 22v @ 1.25a I then tried using a universal charger, set at 22v. The problem I now face is that the roomba was pulsing ok for a couple of minutes, then pulses twice and switches off, a second later switches back on, pulses a couple of times, then off again. Repeat....

Naturally something is wrong, but I would like to diagnose what may be wrong. Have I blown the roomba, the charging mechanism, doing something completely wrong, have a faulty power/charging unit.

Any advice on where/how to diagnose would be greatly appreciated. I would like to try to find the fault before having to buy another unit.
