I have had my Roomba Discovery for a couple of weeks now and use it daily and love it.
However I don't know if it works properly on steps. I have a two story house and a sunken living room. On the step of the sunken living room it constantly gets stuck - tipped over the edge. It has acctually fallen off a couple of times. Because of this I am afraid it will fall down the stairs so I have to set a virtual wall across the top of the stairs.
Is this the way it is supposed to work? I clean it pretty thoroughly after each use and it has done this since the first use. Also it backs up and gets stuck against the wall sometimes too. |

is there a threshold where the floor goes down into the sunken l/room ?
my roomba gets hung up on thresholds between rooms.
your steps should not be a problem. just let the roomba get to the edge with you ready to catch it a few times to verify that the steps will not cause a tumble. |

Customer service told me it was because my step was rounded (it is carpeted) and to test the Roomba on a table where there were no problems at all.
I haven't tried the stairs unprotected by the virtual wall yet but plan on it and watching it the first few times. |
