We have a 3 bedroom home and I was wondering how the discovery would do with that setting. Presently we have a Pro and we shut it in each room as we clean. Will the Discovery get to far from the base or get in a room and not get out?
:?

It all depends on the size of these rooms.
For example, the normal cycle my roomba cleans is the Foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, and hallway. That's on the MAX button which is run roomba dry on battery life.
I live in a one bed room apartment about 1,000 sq ft so that's almost all of the apartment except for my bed room which is bigger, and my small bathroom.
I recently tried the roomba in the living room and left all my doors open including the bedroom and bathroom to see how well it would do on cleaning it. So that's a grand total of 7 areas, my bedroom and living room being the biggest. Roomba did a surprisingly okay job with it but not great.
As always, the smaller the sq footage roomba has to clean the better chance of a vacuuming.
BUT if your like my i set my roomba loose everyday so you can leave all the doors open and have it clean until it drops cause chances are that area was already clean.
So it all just depends on size of room, how many objects it bumps into, and surface it goes on. Most of my apartment is carpet so roomba lasts about an hour and a half on max setting. Maybe a little less. If your on all tile or wood the better your chance of a better cleaning due to longer battery life and it'll be more of a chance for it to clean over a certain area.
Hope this helps.
