Hi,
the brushes on my roomba have stopped turning, although occasionally they turn with lots of noise. Is there a link with photos of what to look for when taking the roomba apart to clean? also, this is a sage roomba- is the warranty still 90 days, or did it get increased? thank you ! |

| I have now taken apart the side that covers the gears that move the brushes- they were dirty. But after cleaning out- the brushes only work sometimes with bad noise, and then quit. Maybe the motor is going out, or is there anywhere else that it could be jammed? Also- what is this white piece of thread that attaches to the motor? |

I have the same problem. Mine seems like the motor might have burned out. Mine lacks the torque to be able to start up properly, but if I give the brushes enough of a push then they start to work. My only thought it that dust has accumulated in the gears but I cant figure out any way to open the gears.
The white thread you asked about looks like a design to allow the brushes to lift up if it hits heavy resistance. The concept is that as the brushes slow down the motor rotates pulling it self up by the string. I think the idea is that it might free itself from something this way.
At least that is my thought..
How long is the warranty on a Roomba Discovery SE??
Thanks |

| The Discovery SE has a 1 year factory warranty from iRobot, but if you bought it from Hammacher Schlemmer then you have a lifetime warranty. |
