|
|
My Discovery SE had the dreaded Circle Dance. Some recent posters on this forum suggested possible solutions. I was able to fix mine!
I have posted some step by step instructions for fixing the Circle Dance on the SE on my new Roomba tips site. It is illustrated with many closeup pictures.
Go to http://www.roombahelp.com/
If you have a Discovery with non-removable fenders (like the Roomba Red) you'll have to physically cut
I don't know if the Sage or the regular Discovery has removable fenders or not. If so, then my instructions would probably work.
Good luck - please give me feedback on my instructions !

| Thank you so much for the great instructions! Now I know I'm a nerd because I totally enjoyed disassembling my Roomba and seeing its inner workings. The dreaded circle dance is no more, and Roomba is happily cleaning my living room. Thanks again! |

Hi Kevin, its been awhile since chatting!
I might say, your site has been referenced several times in this forum, in the last two years, so your announcement should be surprising only to owners that have not had to deal with the CD. :-)

Kevin There is one thing I think could benefit the uninitiated; and that is to clarify what part of the photo-transistor (and LED too) requires cleaning. I bring this up because your illustration of a clean PT shows two white spots (cleaned area) at the base of the PT, while the PT's lens is still coated with black debris. A clean PT is illustrated in the bottom attachment.
An owner venturing inside the wheel-assembly for the first time, needs to know exactly what to focus her/his attention on. It is the bulbous blister-lens that is most important to restore to a clean state. Of course the surrounding area should be clean too. |
