i gave five roomba discovery units as christmas gifts. here is the status less than 120 days out from christmas,
user 1: on second unit
user 2: on third unit
user 3: still on original unit
user 4: on second unit
user 5: on second unit
all five users have needed replacement parts already. i.e. side brushes. two users had to have the virtual wall(s) replaced.
i guess replacement is part of the game because i-robot just has folks send in the brush guard and they seem happy to send out replacement machines.
same regarding parts. folks just call or email i-robot and puff, the parts arrive via mail...no charge. |

Yup. Personally I don't mind too much because I repaired my first broken one and now whenever one breaks it gives me a chance to 'experiment' on it!
I hope to have an army of franken-roombas someday... |

| MY ROOMBA WAS A GIFT IN DEC. VERY EXPENSIVE ALMOST $300. BUT FOR SOME REASON IT STOPPED WORKING LAST MONTH. THAT IS THREE MONTHS AFTER I GOT IT. I HAVE CLEANED IT BUT IT STILL WON'T RUN. THE RED LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. BUT WHEN IT WAS WORKING IT DID FAIRLY GOOD. DID NOT DO CORNERS OR EDGES HOWEVER STILL NEEDED MY BIG VAC. |
