Does anyone know if the Roomba works with wood floors and oriental rugs? I want to get one but I'm afraid it won't work because of the fringe on my rugs.

The roomba works great on my tile floors however it does not pick up the dog hair or anything else on the Oriental rug.
The fringe also poses a problem that eventually would be detrimental to the rug. My solution is to flip the ends of the rug over and then the sides, when the roomba hits the rug it just bounces off and completes cleaning the rest of the room.

I do not have fringes on my oriental rug but it is about 2 inches tall. Somtimes it gets on the oriental rug somtimes it just bounces off. Roomba does an OK job on the rug when it gets on. Roomba does great work on hard floors.
