This is a dumb question I'm sure, but I've done a search in the forum but cannot locate this...
My question is can the Roomba Red use the self-charging station like the Discover SE can (e.g. when it's batteries are low will it navigate to the base station and charge itself)?

It sure can. All of the new Discovery models are compatible with the self charger, and one of the best combinations is to add a homebase to the Roomba Red.
When you buy the homebase you also get the 2 1/2 hour fast charger with it. You can get it for $45 delivered, and in my opinion it makes the Red just as good as a Discovery.
