I just got my mom a base model, one-button 400 for Mother's Day. I know the one-button will obey virtual walls, and read that it will take a Home Base charging station... but what about Scheduling?
I've got an extra Scheduler remote... can I ship this to her and it will work with her 400? |

Yes, It will schedule. I have a 400 that I use to clean my theater room and it schedules. You also can use the remote to access the spot feature which you do not have a button on the roomba for. You also can use the remote to press spot and clean to dock.
When scheduling, turn on the power with the remote (don't hit the clean button) send the programs with the send all button on the remote and then turn off the power. There is no light to blink to tell you it is programmed like the other models but it should acknowledge the program and go when it is supposed to.
So far the only thing I have not been able to get my 400 to do is the built in tests. |

Actually.. one more question!
Can a home base be used with the slow charger & non-aps battery that came with her 400, or does it all need to be upgraded to use the home base? |

| Make sure you charge for the minimum of 16 hours. If you have a docking station or the plugin charger the 400 has to be off the charger to take a schedule. Just unplug it or disconnect the docking station or just put it in the middle of the room and then you can turn it on with the remote and do the scheduling. |

I believe it can be used with the standard stuff and/or any combination, but I do not have any personal experience with hooking up a homebase to a standard charger. I think it would work but maybe not. I know that a standard battery will charge with the fast charger as that is what my 400 came with. |
