No matter how hard I try, I can't get him put back together right!

I finally got around to putting back together my extra Scooba (Broken inlet valve, bought a replacement from roombaexchange, but got stuck finding something to seal the electronics box back up), and as most projects go, something is always missing at the end. As I was putting the top part of the shell back on the bottom part, the rubber seal surrounding the hole the inlet valve goes through popped off. I watched it hit the table, and didn't think anything of it. Figured I'd put it back when everything was back together again.

Well got the bot back together, and wouldn't you know, can't find the stupid seal! It's probably stuck in the bot somewhere, but I don't want to take it apart again. Getting that bumper back on and all the screws in right was harrowing enough! I looked on roombaexchange, they don't seem to be sold separately from the body shells. Does anyone know where to get them? Failing that, anyone know of a suitable substitute seal?

You might try some of the clear aquarium sealer in the tube. Wal Mart carries it in the pet section of their store.

Vic,

Thanks for the idea. Fortunately, on the third search of the floor around the kitchen table I found it. Little sucker rolled about 6 feet away from where I was working into a corner!

Unfortunately, I should've paid better attention when I popped it out. Turns out its more of a rubber grommet than an insert, so I'll be taking it back apart so I can stick it into the hole. Arggh! Hopefully I won't strip out any more screw holes (I even followed Gordon's directions to spin the screws backwards until you feel them "click").

Do you know of a good fix to get the screws to engage again in stripped holes, save getting bigger diameter screws? I know when this happens in a wall I'll stick a toothpick or two into the hole and that usually works. But that's drywall and not plastic.
