I don't get it. What's a Woot-off? I just looked on Woot and I still don't get it.

Jeff
A wootoff is like a sell-off. They have a certain quantity of things and when they sell out they put up the next lot. No way to know how many items or what they'll sell next.
Last wootoff was march 26th, I think. They had the 4275s and the 4260's but they sold out within minutes...25 for the 4275's and 10 for the 4260's, if memory serves.

Woot-off

I see some orange flashing lights on the main page – what do they mean?
No, you aren't seeing a side effect from your allergy medication. You have found a Woot-Off, a short term frenzied mutation of our product posting procedure. In Woot-Off mode, a new product is launched immediately after the sellout of the previous deal. There is a half-Woot-life of 12 hours maximum on any product within a Woot-Off that does not sell out. The number of Woot-Off items, sequence, and quantity will not be announced. When Woot-Off mode is over, the orange lights will disappear and our normal schedule will resume. Depending on its success, this may be a mode we would go into once or twice a month for a relatively short duration of time (24-72 hours generally.)

I got an alert about a Roomba 4210 that was on at 5:30 AM Pacific time... there could be more but that's gone, obviously (gone long before I saw it.)

Right now there is a Roomba 510 for $149 (which I don't think is too great a deal but what do I know?)

$149 isn't a bad price. I actually got the one I have for $109 after a rebate from a new credit card but they are much more now on buy.com and amazon.

So far there's been a refurb 4210, and a new 510.... could be more!

Alas, I don't have the money for one right at the moment... and that's probably a good thing.

There was a 4230 sometime during the night. Maybe a 4290 later? (I wasn't up, I had an alert sent even though they tend to come after the item is sold out.)

for past item info you can check bagsofcrap.com. won't help you if you miss the deal, just prolongs the "darn!"
the 4230 sold out in under 5 minutes, there were 140 units, and they came on at 1250 am pst...past my bedtime.
the 4260s came on at 537 pm pst, lasted only 3 minutes, 47 units.
at 149.99 they were outstanding buys though.....and unfortunately i'm thinking getting fewer and farther in between.
i caught neither offering, for which i should be grateful i suppose
