I bought a brand new 560 yesterday and let it charge overnight. In the morning, I noticed the charging light was not on. I picked it up and placed directly on the home base and still the charging light did not turn on. I then unplugged the power cable from base and connected it directly to the roomba and the charging light came on.

Obviously it wont charge on the home base but why? Has anyone else run into this problem? I have tried performing a reset and I also tried it on my 530 home base and it still wont charge. The 530 charges fine on the 560 home base, so I am fairly certain the base isnt the problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I contact iRobot?

Thanks

*Update

I contacted iRobot and they are sending me a new home base, even after I insisted that wasn't the issue. I hope I am wrong. I still believe I need a replacement roomba.

Evidently the charger path when you mount your Roomba on either home base is defective. Do contact IRobot for a warranty Roomba replacement.
