Hi, new roomba owner here. Got a few questions.
1) Which parts of the roomba 510 can you wash/rinse in water? can you wish the dust bin / filter thingy in the back of the roomba that comes off when you press the button in water?
2) Does the roomba always continously clean until out of battery, or does it stop after certain time even if there is still battery left? I noticed my roomba stops after like 40 mins, even though the light is still green. I start my roomba each morning before leaving for work and like it to keep cleaning until out of battery, is that possible? if so how.
3) Any firmware/upgrades etc..i need for the 510?
thanks.
BTW buy.com has a great deal on the roomba 510, you sign up to some new credit car and get 50 bucks off. I bought my 510 for only $100
EDIT: nm the price is $250 now, it was sellin at $150 - $50 (new credit card) |

I have a 510 and have ordered 3 more for the kids rooms - no scheduling possible there as they are slobs!
1) yes you can pop out the filter, swish it with water/soap and let it dry before replacing (don't forget to put it back in!!!) Some run them through the dishwasher - I've done it and they come clean. ONLY the filter though, the rest of the dust bin has a vacuum motor so don't get it wet!
2)The roomba seems to have a timer. Mine runs 1 hr to the minute and stops. I can hit it again and it runs another hour. I can hit it again and it runs, but probably not for long. I just stopped it at this point. Your 510 should run 1 hour before stopping. If not, contact irobot for info. It may just need a reset.
3) No firmware updates, the 510 is new and has no problems outside of the 5xx issues of brush deck failure, hair build-up on edges of brushes and sidebrush breakage. |
