Our roomba 400 (warranty exchanged last fall) hit now its first problems. I noticed two behaviours: a) after bumping into obstacles it almost always decided to stop with a double oh-ah; b) launching the cycle sometimes started with a left and right wiggling which usually ended with a oh-ah but not always.
I tried to clean the cliff sensor which did not help. But both issues seem to be resolved now after taking out the battery and pressing start for 10s or so in order to completely reset. There apparently was some miscalibration on the sensitivity of sensors (?) What else can I do ? Wait for the problems to reoccur and then more specifically target them ?
Thanks, Andreas |

| You've accomplished about all you're going to be able to do on your Roomba. The software can't be modified by us users so the system reset does clear up a lot of issues. The reset may have to be repeated from time to time. |

Thanks, this is quite reassuring to hear. Of course, it would be even more reassuring to diagnose an actual root cause. Anyways, I am just happy that the reset was addressing this cause sufficiently whatever it may have been. I am content to wait for this or other problems to occur hopefully far into the future.
