Anyone out there have any tips for when roomba keeps losing his dustbin? I've noticed it happens when he goes from carpet to floor or vice versa. Otherwise, everything is working fine....

Thanks in advance,

A Roomba Lover :)

You should always say which Roomba model you are talking about!

Discovery-series dust-bins can accumulate large bits of grit between the sprung latch and the interior surface of the bin's upper structure. BTW, that 'accumulation' happens while you are handling the bin & Roomba, not during a cleaning mission. The grit basically keeps the latch 'depressed', hence it fails to securely latch when you shove the bin into Roomba.

For easy cases of this malady, you may depress the latch, then tap the leading edge of the bin's top-structure against something firm (IOW, you wil be using inertia to dislodge the bits).

Severe cases require dismantling the bin to release the particles.
