I have completely taken apart a semi-dead 41xx and during the process of taking the dustbin apart to clean the vacuum motor and interior a 3/4" spring came from somewhere.....I am pretty sure it has something to do with the release button , but I can't figure out how to reattach it or see where it truly goes. I don't need it to make the roomba work, but it is highly annoying :? :x  not to be able to get it back together correctly. The other weird thing is that the battery doesn't stay in place, but drops down and loses connection. I am taping it in place, but there must be a solution. None of the other roombas lose connection this way.
Thanks for any help.

| Kamida. I never had the dust bin apart and I'm sure someone who has will help you but the spring most likely will go under the dust bin release button to push it back when you push it down. Probably button goes in, then spring under, should fit 1 end in button hollow and normally a groove in bottom to keep it from sliding while you screw it back together but may simply sit on the bottom. Sorry I can't help more since I never took one apart. |

Believe the spring should fit beneath the bin release catch, in the middle of the triangular shaped piece and connecting to the circular cutout at the base.
