My Discovery works fine until it hits an object. Once it hits something, it stops says "uh oh" twice and the status light comes on. If I then press the "clean" button it continues as if there was never a problem.

I have run the diagnostics and it passes all tests. I have also stripped it right down to the gear box (which was surprisingly clean) and cleaned it within an inch of its life.

It doesn't have this problem if it turns because of a cliff. Sometimes it will manage to hit an object and behave normally, but no more than 50% of the time. Can someone please help, its not much use having a robot which requires me to follow it around and keep pushing the clean button.

Guitarboy,

I'm sure your Discovery is out of warranty, why don't you head on over to the READ HERE, and run the diagnostics.

If your Discovery is still under warranty, then don't run the diagnostics, and send it in for repair.

I've already run the diagnostics, it passes everything. Two "uh oh"s with no beeps afterwards indicates a wheel is stuck or not touching the ground, but that doesn't appear to be the reality, as the wheels passed the diagnostics and they all appear firmly planted on terra firma.

Seems to me there was a similar case like this, a few months ago. The culprit turned out to be an intermittent wheel-drop switch. Let's see if I have a link to that...

Oh yes, here it is:
