Hello
I have had my Roomba Discover about a year now (it's almost out of warranty I think) and it has stopped charging in the docking station. Both green lights come on the the power light on the Roomba pulses as if it's charging but it's not actually charging because if I take it off the dock after several hours, it has no charge.
It charges fine plugging in manually to the DC power socket. I have checked the electrical contacts on both the Roomba and the dock to make sure they're clean.
Is there anything else I can check?
Thank in advance. |

| monkeychops, run the Diagnostics in the READ FIRST section. Since your Roomba can charge plugged in and not on the dock, there is either a loose connection inside, or the dock itself. One way to verify the dock, is to use another dock (If you can). |

Can you offer any more specific help? I spent 10 minutes looking through the articles you referred to but found nothing about the docking station failing to charge the Roomba.
I have sent an email to iRobot but don't hold out much hope.
I guess I will have to make enquiries with the retailer who I bought this from. From all my searches it seems like a pretty rare problem. |

Ok, maybe it's not rare, according to the information in your link.
It also sounds like a component failure in the docking station (or home base, whatever the correct term is). So I guess I'll try to get it fixed under warranty (which always seems like a collosal effort these days) or just live with the problem and use the plug in charger.
The Roomba has lasted a year so far with just one replacement battery and no other issues. From all I read before I bought it, this seems a fairly typical experience so can't complain. |

| Phone up Domotec who sent out a replacement docking station (Home Base) within a few days. Surprised and pleased at such good service. Hope this one lasts at least another year! |
