| I have had enough of I-Robot! Having owned two Roombas as well as one Scooba all with basically the same outcome. I am enchanted with the idea of these robots but certainly need to find a company with integrity and a better product! Both Roombas and Scooba had battery and charger replacements during warranty. The Roombas required new batteries right after the warranty ran out and the Scooba died one month out of warranty. One of the Roombas stopped moving the brushes right after I purchased the battery and the batteries lasted a very short time as before. I-Robot is scamming the public with high priced robots that basically last a year and offer a rebuilt exchange unit for the price of a new one without the accessories! I would rather hire a housekeeper than give them two or three hundred dollars a year in order to stay in robots. I am hoping to find another manufacturer for a new robot vacuum. I would appreciate any advise from someone who has found a reliable replacement for a Roomba or Scooba. I forgot to mention - my Roombas were the top of the line at the time I purchased them so I am not talking about the economy model. |

Hi Scooter
Have a look at the Karcher/Siemens (same machine, different colour). I have 3 that all work for about 9 hours a day, every day - one I've had for 3 1/2 years and the other two about 6 months. Rarely have any trouble, and ZERO maintenance, just change the bag every 4/5 weeks (I personally would rather pay for the bags than clean out the Roombas daily  )
I have 2 roombas, one of which is broken and the other does one room upstairs about once a month - don't use it more often 'cos I can't be bothered to clean it.
Cheers

| I have not had any luck finding a karcher for sale in the US. Most I have found have been discontinued. |
