I have torn my house apart looking for my user's manual, to no avail. I've also searched for an online copy and can't find anything. So, I'm hoping someone here can help me

I've got the Roomba Scheduler 4260 and it has been working great. We recently removed our carpet and put down hardwood. The last time I used my vac on the carpet, there were no problems. The bin filled, I emptied it, and set the unit to charge. A few days later, the hardwood floors were done and I set the Roomba loose to see how it did. It went for about 1 minute and then stopped and gave the "uh oh" signal, followed by one beep. The status light went on and the "clean" button was blinking. So, I put the unit in my kitchen, where it has always worked just fine. Same problem. Any ideas?

jennzee,

“Uh-oh” plus 1 beep

The robot's main brushes are stalled
• Pick up your robot, turn it over* and remove the wire guard.
• Look for something blocking the brushes; you may need to remove and reinstall the brushes to remove the obstruction.

How often do you take out the brushes and clean them, including the ends?

Thank you! I guess I'm one of those users who skip right over the "read this first" threads and just ask away (though I did think to search the forums for my specific model before posting  ). Shame on me! I found the beep code list in another thread when I finally did read the "read this first" thread and just finished cleaning the brushes. My floor is being happily cleaned as I type

I've been running my roomba for about 2 1/2 months and hadn't cleaned the brushes ever, so this was a good reminder for me to do that regularly!

Yes, definately take out the brushes regularly and clean the hair wrapped around the ends, especially under the yellow "Bushings"..

2 1/2 MONTHS . . . I'd be hard stretched to get 2 1/2 cleaning missions without cleaning the brushes, let alone 2 1/2 months! (Guess your house must be really really clean and you don't have any pets!)

You're right....no pets (unless you count the three little critters I gave birth to...the often feel like animals  ) and I am a bit of a clean freak, so maybe that's why I haven't had any problems not cleaning the brushes so far. The stuff holding it up this time was the carpet twine that unravels from the edge of your carpet...so most likely due to the fact that we've had unsecured carpet edges for a bit while preparing for the new floors. I was surprised that there wasn't more hair than there was

For future reference, you can download the PDF version of the manual from the irobot website. Go to www.irobot.com, then follow the links for Home Robots, Service/Support, Find Manuals.
