Can anyone tell me what this error message means? I can't find it anywhere on the forum and google searching doesn't help either. I have a 6 month old Rooom 550. 99% of the time it works perfectly, but twice now it has told me to clean it's core center. I thought it was the little goldish color shiny thing under the brushes, so I cleaned that area really well. Ran for 5 minutes and then same error. I have cleaned all the wheels and brushes, emptied the bin, removed the bottom and cleaned under there (there was nothing to clean). I am at a loss. Please help.

Bisquit, I have never come across that error before. I have an idea that it might want you to remove the bottom plate, and remove all of the modules and give it a good clean. I have done this and dirt gets trapped under the modules, etc..

Wow!

That "little goldish color shiny thing" is a dirt sensor. If dirt sensor in error state blue "dirt detect" LED blink constantly once per second.

"Inspect and Clean roomba's Core Center" - may be dirt on mainboard cause the mainboard to overheat (however Vic7767 tells that mainboard sealed very well)? Or mainboard can`t receive appropriate response from his sensors, motors or buttons because faulty(dirty) contacts in his connectors?

May be you dont correctly heard "Inspect and clean Roomba's Cliff Sensors"? :)

How many beeps Roomba make before that message? You can repeat error message by pressing Roomba's bumper or CLEAN button.

Good luck!

igors48 may be correct on this.

"Please Inspect and clean Roombas Cliff Sensors"

and

"Please Inspect and clean Roombas Core Center"

kinda sound the same.

Anyone else ever hear this new message ?

I believe it's Cliff Sensor. You need to get canned or compressed air and if you have not been doing it, turn it upside down and blow the air into the four openings around the bumper in the front.

Lots of other places you can used the air to clean as well.
