The June 11th edition of The Wall Street Journal features an article about robots and pets entitled:
When Dogs and Robots Collide, Somebody Needs a Talking To
It contains interviews with several forum members about how their pets interact with robots in the home, such as the Roomba and the Scooba.
I was also interviewed about the video where my fiancee's dogs react to the Pleo robotic dinosaur.
For the record, Candie still bites him whenever she sees him.
Regards,
Craig |

Wall Street Journal wrote: Craig Capizzi, who runs RoombaReview.com from his Staten Island, N.Y., home, says his Yorkshire terrier, Candie, ignores his Roomba but is scared of his new Pleo, a dinosaur-like robot made by Ugobe Inc. "She's terrified of it. She bites it," he says. "That dog really believes it's another animal and, apparently, a frightening animal." He sent Pleo home with his fiancée's mother, who "fell in love with it and treats it like a pet," he says.
Nice writeup. This is the way to go to get more people comfortable about having robots in the home with pets (Certain circumstances).. |
