Same thing on the bumper extensions. I've been waiting on bumper extensions for months now. I've been waiting on a CHM for about 2 weeks. :(

IRobot used to offer the bumper extension on the 5XX models to make them behave more like the 4XXX Roomba for floor height clearance. IRobot has now discontinued the bumper extension.

From iRobot's web site:

The Roomba 500 Series Bumper Extension is a rubber strip that was designed to help limit the mobility of Roomba when encountering certain types of obstacles. Placed by the user on the lower section of the bumper, the Bumper Extension would limit Roomba's ability to ascend onto certain obstacles it was not intended to climb.

Additional testing and research determined that such obstacles are not prevalent in most homes. For this reason, the Bumper Extension has been discontinued. If your 500 Series Roomba gets stuck on obstacles in your home, it is recommended that you use a Virtual Wall to block off the desired area and to keep Roomba cleaning where you want it.

They found way to Cut Costs and sell more Virtual Walls/Lighthouses :!:
