This was my first AC spring maintenence since having my Roomba army. The coil of my AC unit was spottlessly clean! The repair person asked if I'd been cleaning it! I credit the Roombas which did not allow dust to accumulate and get sucked into the AC. As a bonus, I didn't have to rush home from work and vacuum so the house would be clean for the repair guy! Now if only they could learn to clean/repair the ducts...

I am looking forward to the idea that less dust/dirt on the floor means less on all the furniture and everywhere else! Good to know that will be the case with time.
How many Roombas do you have in your army? :D |

My Army consists of -1- iRobot....not exactly an army....I'm going to wait until some improvements come before investing another $500. I have the 580.
I look forword to the day there's a standing robot that can dust, carry grocery bags, etc. and be just a general help. I believe it will happen in this Century. It might be quite expensive though but in the long run less than hired help. |

I have four Roombas. Esmeralda, a green 405, cleans my bedroom, bath and walk-in closet M-F at 6AM. Nola, a white disco, cleans the living room, kitchen, laundry room and hall M-F at 7AM. Jane the Second, a maroon 400, cleans the pigeon's room at 7PM M-F. And Omar, a grey disco, cleans the living room, kitchen, laundry room and hall Saturday and Sunday at 9AM. Sylvia the Scooba 380 scrubs the kitchen floor. I used to have Pedro- my first- a grey disco, but he had a brush motor failure and was adopted by a forum member who had the ability to repair him.
All my discos came from Woot, remanufactured. Esmeralda came from Sears the day Pedro died, and I got Jane for free when I bought Sylvia. Jane's brush motor died the DAY AFTER Pedro's, and she was sent back to iRobot under warranty and replaced with Jane the Second.
Both Jane the Second and Esmeralda have had to have their batteries replaced, under warranty, at about six months of battery age. They had the grey batteries, but got yellow battery replacements. I successfully operated on Pedro for Circle Dance- I was quite proud of myself at the time! All this Roomba activity in about a year's time...

Suggestion: Since you now have all those nice spare parts from buying the package with the 580, why not get a Costco 550 for $279 or a $560 on sale somewhere? Everything is interchangeable anyway. That will average out your per machine cost too. |
