Hi!
I have a question for my more tech saavy bretheren. I'd like to confine my DD to the most forward ten feet of the garage (and to the 12' of covered patio before the pool). Thus far I've tried physical barriers (lots of work) and aiming two VW's at each other (really wide dead zone and a gap in the middle).
I know next to zero about IR, but will any IR beam stop the DD? For example, the beam that stops the garage door from closing when it's obstructed...could one of those be rigged (er...adapted) to do the job?
I know you'll have some great suggestions.
Thanks!! |

| The VW IR signal has a specific carrier frequency and would not be compatable with the garage door opener. I can't remember my source right now but I will look and post back later. I purchaed some IR emitters and drilled a hole on the opposite side of the VW and added the emitter in parallel. This in effect sends the IR signal out both ends of the VW and will cover up to 16 feet. |

| Would it work to paint a black stripe where you want the "wall" to be and make the dirt dog think there is a cliff? Or a stripe of black tape if you don't want the permanancy of paint? |
