Hello all,
I have had two of these from Costco, and both of them have had the same problem. I come home and find it has gotten stuck. I pick it up, and it beeps six times. I carry it near the dock, and push the "dock" button which starts to flash. Roomba acts as though he can't even see the dock, crashes right into it and then turns, pulling it along with. Also I have a lighthouse set to VW at my bedroom door and every so often it will ignore the wall, and I find it stuck somewhere in there..Any ideas? Specially the docking problem. The only way I can dock it is to turn it off and roll it up on the dock.

Thanks,

John

Posted too soon..Sorry..I found it on the Irobot site. I did pick it up from a room beyond the lighthouse, so it was intentionally ignoring the dock. Still don't know why it sometimes ignores the LH that I have set on VW mode..

Thanks,
John

John,

You can check the home base to see if it's somewhat working(At least showing the beacon). Take your digital camera and point it towards the front of the home base with the Roomba off of the base and the base plugged in. You 'should' see 2 white lights coming from it when you view it from your camera(Have to use the LCD screen).

You can also try the Lighthouses when the Roomba is running and the green light on the Lighthouse is green. Use your camera to see if the beacon signal is on.

Also, by moving the home base to a different location can fix this issue. If you have a Lighthouse close to the home base will affect docking also.

Hi there,
I returned the first one as it became really noisy and exchanged it but they both did it. But after reading on the Irobot site it was because the roomba had moved into the dining room past the other lighthouse. If you remove it from a room it has entered past the LH, and manually take it back to the dock it will ignore the dock. So, it's working as it should

I will have to observe the other lighthouse/VW to see why it passes by it when set on FW sometimes.
FYI, it always docks like it should when it runs normally..Glad I figured that out..Been driving me nuts!
