Once again I had to call about new side brushes bc the 1st replacement batch of 3 had all broken. Yesterday a new batch of three arrived, very fast service, but they are the old red ones.
I understand if they want to get rid of that old supply before sending out the new design supply, but I'm confused as to why some ppl have already received the new brushes (white) and some haven't? Anyone know why that is? |

Can't answer your question exactly, but I got a 3-pack of red brushes a few months ago, and none of the arms have broken yet. So they might be the new formula.
(I did lose one whole brush because I was experimenting with running it without the screw. I'm sure it's in the house somewhere, but haven't found it yet.) |

I never use the screw on mine and only rarely {I run it daily, sometimes 2x a day) wiill the whole brush fall off. I just have to make sure it's keyed/snapped in snug, then it's good to go. My arm loss is only bc it will fight with a cpl throw rugs I have sometimes.
Some one here explained a way to make sure it goes on tight. Since then it has been a snap (pun intended) to clean and replace.
1. Place it lightly on the shaft
2. twist until it stops (keyed)
2. then push to snap in |

| Um...actually, I did that. (Snap it on tight.) Lost it anyway. Who knows why; maybe it snagged on something. |

| I finally had the side brush loose an arm after 7 months of use. Considering the fact that all of the brushes are expected to wear with use, I think that's pretty good. They are not indestructible and I can't expect them to be. The replacements sent to me by iRobot are the red ones. |
