A few weeks ago, I bought a Roomba 4200, a Scooba 350, and a Sharper Image e-Vac. I'll admit up front that the Roomba beats the e-Vac like an unloved, naughty stepchild... up, down, left, right, and diagonally.

That said, the eVac does a wonderful job of picking up cat hair, just like I originally thought it would. It couldn't pick up cat litter from a corner to save its life... and isn't all that great at picking up cat litter that's directly beneath it, either... but MAN, it can suck up a wad of cat hair from an inch or two away :-)

Unfortunately, its battery rarely lasts more than 20 minutes. I think its all-time record runtime was around 25 or 26 minutes. Would a new battery meaningfully improve on that runtime? Are replacement batteries even available? Has anyone ever rebuilt their own battery pack with new cells?

Hello miamicanes,

You may wish to send a PM to glo69 and/or vic7767 and ask if they are able to assist you with your request. They usually create Li-ION batteries for the Roomba and Scooba but they may provide you, at least, with some guidance.
