That's a great price for the 2-pack.
And it would solve the roombarf problem........ |

I see rather a glaring problem with the 2 pack. Anyone who is unaware would think that this home base and virtual wall is going to work for both of them. In fact you have a complete 5xx series set and nothing except a plug in charger for the sage.
On this forum we all know the difference and would understand all that but the customer base on HSN probably does not.
She carefully says in the video that maybe you want one upstairs and one down which would make sense. Then in the first demo, they have the sage on the top showing cliff sensors but all the fuss is being made out of the LH/VW and so forth of the 5xx series.
They also talk about the price on HSN being the best on the 535 when the only place that sells it is HSN!
He also says it has "Aware technology" that looks at your room and determines it will clean every speck 4 times??
As I said, people will not pick up on that.
It is a good price if you want a sage but I hate the way they push this stuff. A Mars Rover? MIT engineers who are the same ones that developed the Mars Rover? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm |

hi logdog
what i've found sometimes is that if they do bump into one another "just so" then one might crawl back to the home base a bit early! i find the "sweet spot" for the dog pit is actually around 3, and if i have the energy i might set them at different parts of the area to minimize collision.
but they do seem to find their way around, and there is so much hair and debris i'm not sure how one little guy could handle the job. |

What you said about the "hit just so and it might go home" actually happened to me for the first time the other day.
I have a 535 and a 560 which always go out together and clean. (The Roomba family that plays together, stays together or something  )
Anyway, about 25 min in, the 535 suddenly played it's song and was back on the HB. 560 is still out there working but the 535 has plenty of green left and I was wondering why it did that. Today it worked just as long as the 560.
So I guess they must have bumped heads in the other part of the house and the 535 sulked, took his toys and went home?? 8) |

Not sure about the Mars rovers, but iRobot was founded by MIT engineers, including Rodney Brooks, who was head of the AI Lab there and designed many robots. I met him once, years ago, and got to see his "learning robot," Attilla. I believe some of the Roomba programming was based on the software developed in his lab.
It's entirely plausible that some of that same development work went into the Mars rovers. |
