I am in the USA and just got a roomba 530. I always wanted one but for a recent graduate they have been out of my price range. Luckily I found one at a store called "Linen and things" for about 120$.
My 3 room apartment was a good testing ground. I lived here for a year and never once vacuumed the apartment. Because of this all the borders in every room were black and covered in caked on dust. I know t sounds gross but I was studying for the MCATS for med school so no time for vacuuming.
Didnt get my hopes up about roomba since it looked like the only thing that could clean a carpet that hasnt been cleaned in a year is an industrial vacuum. the carpet is black like the floor is near a refrigerator and the wall.
During its first run I had to empty the bin every 15-25 minutes because it would fill up. I expected this so didnt sweat it but it didnt seem to be cleaning up the borders but I didnt expect it too. The roomba had no problem with my speaker wires and just went right over them. I figured it would eat them up or something but it did not.
Fast forward now 2 days and after about 10 runs everything was clean! I was so shocked even the kitchen which has hard floor had no dirt on it! I could not believe it! Even the thick year old caked on dust stuff was gone.
Best part is I can still see how clean my floors are now compared to before some spots it couldnt reach like near this chair and its still black there but the rest is so clean. Makes living here much happier and i feel better now coming home.
This thing rally worked and i love that! we named my roomba BoBo. Just kind of fit since it bumps into everything. ]
My tips for new owners:
after it got everything clean i took it back to the store and exchanged it for another one. Figured it was so beat up i put it through 3 years of use in 2 days. I even kept the brushes and filters just in case ya know.
long story short i love roomba and it is like a pet. At times I follow it around watching my roomba and I do love it like a pet since i cnat have pets:( |

Nothing like a bit of dishonesty to keep the world going round... No wonder we all pay so much for products |
