|
|
My roomba Discovery, 4210, was not pluged into a surge protector. I had her pluged in for about a week. I noticed that she fully charged after the first day and than a couple of days latter I noticed the light flashing instead of staying a constant green. I can't remember if it flashed amber or red. I unpluged her and pushed the start button and she didn't do anything.
I have since replaced the battery I inserted the new battery and pressed the start button just to see if I got any lights and the light turned green for a second and than went away. When I tried to plug her into the power cord the light on the cord would not light up and it would not power the base so I decided that the cord was bad.
I found a universal cord that fit (bad I know) I pluged it into the homebase and set her on it and the base lights came on but not the roombas. I than plugged her straight into the cord. She began flashing red. Whoo hoo ( I thought) I checked on her several times over the next day to makesure nothing was heating up since I was not using the propper cord and it was fine. 24 hours later she was still flashing red and not powering on I have tried switching out the batteries because I don't think my old one was bad because it ran fine before all of this.
When I unplug her and press the buttons nothing happens.
Did I fry the "brain" :?:
I tried the reset procedure but I only heald it down for 10-15 seconds because I didn't know how long to do it for. I will try it again tonight and hold it down for 30-60 seconds this time.
I cleaned her when I first got her because she was doing the circle thing and she worked fine until now.
Please help I have waited years to be able to own one and I only got to play with her for 2 weeks before she got sick and went into a coma. |

| If your Roomba is still covered by an IRobot warranty, now would be the time to contact them for some warranty suport. |

| No such luck. I actually got it from a guy who lived in CA (I am in FL) off of craigslist. It was doing the circle dance and he did not want to mess with it so he gave it to me and I paid for shipping. I fixed the dirty sensor problem and she ran perfect until this started happening. So no warranty options for me. |
