I bought a new APS Battery pack for a 4100 Roomba Red off a vendor in California on ebay 5 months ago. This battery started to deteriorate after only 3 months, now only runs 30 minutes. I've done the reset procedure three times - no change. I have another roomba, same model, that is still happily chugging along for 1 1/2 -2 hours on a charge. This battery is a year old.
I'm disappointed with the ebay battery. Is getting a new battery from Roomba the most reliable option?

| If you want to continue using the NiMH technology batteries then IRobot has them for your Roomba. If you want to change to a battery that lasts twice as long a NiMH you may want to consider a LI-ion battery for your Roomba. It is compatible with your existing Roomba home base and power supplies. If interested send a PM to myself or glo69 or you can go here for some information : www.RoombaExchange.com |

I've seen posts on this forum from people who have replaced the NIMH cells in 'dead' APS packs. I haven't read the forum extensively yet, but I imagine that someone on here would supply such a 'rebuild service'.
The original idea was to get a rejuvenated battery for less than the cost of a new APS from IRobot or any other vendor. |
