I recently got a used dirt dog off eBay (maybe my first mistake) and he does't want to play nice.

After charging him up, I put him on the concrete floor and told him to clean. he just backs up immediately, and keeps acting like there is a cliff in front of him at all times. He never actually goes forward for longer than half a foot, and can't clean any floor area at all.

I tried cleaning out every nook and cranny, I gave him a smack on the bumper, I cleaned out the bumper area with contact cleaner, and I reset him a few times.

Anyone else have an idea?

Your DD is certainaly complaining about an abnormal sensor. You may have to disassemble your robot to discover the problem.
