My wife has been playing the missionary, and I have ordered a brand new 5800 for one of her friends. Got here today. It's with the grey battery, not the blue I'm used to. I have gotten a very good 220 to 110 V transformer as well. From the serial number I'd say the birthdate is March 2008. Does that mean that it can be plugged in 24/7, or should it still have a four hour charging limit?

You probably won't have to worry about the charging system on a Scooba that is so new. I just don't leave the stock NiMH Scooba battery on any charger for more than 4 hours. After a cleaning mission I recharge the battery and then remove it, store it, and install it when the next mission is needed.

Thanks, Vic! I'll just tell him to get a $10 220 V countdown timer for his transformer, then. Max four hour of charging sounds environmentally smart as well. Not to mention good for the power bill...
